One day your grandchildren will be so thankful.
I was digging around in a box of old photos the other day and came across this print that I had completely forgotten about. It's of my Grandparents and was taken back in 2003. The more I look at it the more I love it; the smile on Granny's face that's just so 'her', the like of almost pride on Papa's face and the little details like the house number showing behind them. That bungalow is where I always picture them. It's the home we visited them in so many times as children. I love that this photo includes their environment, it just represents them so perfectly to me. Granny and Papa have both passed away now, and so photos like these mean all the more. I know it's been said many times before, but I truly feel that taking photos is so very important. And even more important; making sure that YOU exist in photos too. So go grab your camera this weekend. set the timer on it if you have to and get in some photos! One day your grandchildren will be so thankful.

Nerys turned 15 months this week and is just full of mischief and fun. She's quite an adventurous child, desperate to walk down the stairs rather than come down on her tummy like we've taught her, and so badly wanting to play on the big climbing frame at the park. I lifted her up there the other day and realised straight away that it wasn't my best idea ever, as she headed straight for the helter skelter slide and proceeded to whizz down it. I think she was a bit stunned by the whole thing because she didn't try and get back up there! Seeing her develop so rapidly just makes me think of how she was when she was first born, which is why this week's flashback friday photo is this one from when she was just a month old. Where have the 14 months since then gone?! You might also like this previous flashback Friday!
I was looking back through my photos the other day, trying to find a certain picture of me and my sister. And I kept getting distracted by all the old photos of Rhys. This one in particular caught my eye - I love how serious he is! Part of me thinks that I've taken an excessive amount of photos of my children, but most of me is just really happy to have this visual record of how they're growing and changing!
