In case this is the first you've heard of the project, it basically involved taking 10 photos on the 10th of every month. And I'm so pleased that I did it! I found it easier than the 365 that I did in 2013 and love that it has still left me with a great photographic record of our year.
I would definitely recommend a 10 on 10 to anyone who is looking for a photography project for this year!
For me though? I'm trying something different again. Looking through all these photos I'm painfully aware that (as I was the one holding the camera) there are hardly any photos of me from 2014.
I love taking photos of my children as they grow. I love having the record for myself and I love that they will have so many photos of themselves to look back on when they're older.
But I want more than that for them. I want them to know that I was there too! I want to show them who I am at this stage in their lives. I want to show them the man that their Daddy is right now. I want them to have photos of their parents together and of our whole family together.
So in 2015 I plan on taking family portraits every month. I haven't quite planned out all the details yet, but I'm aiming to take a different approach each month; so one month I'll take lifestyle photos of us all, then the next month I might take a more formal, posed portrait and I'm also thinking about one month taking photos of our favourite things at that time. I'm excited by the possibilities at the moment!
If you want to check in and see how this project goes in 2015 you can come and 'like' me on Facebook where I'll be posting the photos each month.
Are you taking on any special projects this year? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!
